I rate this book five stars! It is a MUST READ by Tamora Pierce. This book is about Aly, daughter of the famed Alanna the Lioness. Aly like her Father has the Gift that is particulary useful if you would like to become a spy. Aly is soon swept up in a plan of the Trickster God and is brought to the Copper Isles as a slave. The family Aly serves soon looses face with the daranged emporor of the Isles, so they flee to a far off island where Aly starts to help the God. Soon Aly meets Nawat a strange man with a even odder past. Will Aly be able to protect the family from dangers?

You will have to find out!

This book was the first of Pierce's that I read and I was smitten I love how you get into her skin by the way you see the excerpts of wisdom from the people in her life. Any girl or woman with dreams should read this book because it is a totally girl power book that's just another good example of Tamora's work. Ali really shows girls can do man's work in a woman's way.
