I must say this is one of those books that you really must read. I have just finished and have the feeling that I have lost something of myself, I guess the next one will be ordered straight away! I began reading at around 10 at night and could not put it down till I finished it; some 6 hours later! I simply cannot wait to read more of Terry Brooks.

This book is one of my favorites! It had a great character development and I absolutely love the fact that Terry Brooks introduced a love/relationship between the characters in this book, contrary to The Sword. Seeing the character, such as Wil, fall in love makes reading the book very enjoyable. I will say, however, that Brooks tends to leave me bored explaining surroundings when I know for sure that there will be a battle or a major turning point up ahead, and thats hadly a reason to complain. I'm very excited to see this book as film and I wish good luck to the directer and I pray they won't mess the movie up like they did with Eragon.

this is my favorite of the shannara series. when Amberle turned into the ellcrys i felt really sad. I also felt scared when the reaper was after them. I've never read a book like this before,
where I felt like I was really there with the characters. Terry Brooks is my favorite author, and this is my favorite book. Terry Brooks is just that good.
