Finally! I just finished reading this awesome book, and it really carries on the tradition of the series. I couldn't put it down! Great job!

I love Anne's books I have read all the Pern books so far more then once. In the Skies of Pern she continues the wonderful story of the people, dragons and dolphins of Pern. In this book now that the red star has been moved out of orbit, the inhabitants find that there are other things in the skies that can fall on them and a group of people are fighting the advance of progress. I bought the book a couple of weeks ago and read it in two days. I reread the ending three times and will start over on the series again when I finish this semester of classes.

The Skies of Pern is out and it is fantastic. In the tradition of all the Pern series by Anne McCaffrey, The Skies of Pern is all that I expected. It carries on where All the Weyrs of Pern left off and develops some characters that we knew very little about before. Its like sitting down with an old friend. It was sad to finish because Pern fans relish new tales of their favorite planet. I can not recommend this and all of the Pern series enough. I have been reading Anne McCaffrey for 16 years and I never tire of her books. I have the audiobook by Brilliance and the hardcover copy.
