I like Pern and its habitants very much. I have the first 4 printed books in Dutch language.
I bought 2 month ago the rest of the books in English, beause I wanted to know how the story goes. It's including Dragonsblood of Tod McCaffrey.
I started to read the book in the reading order from the timeline of After Landing.
Now I'm at the start of Moreta, Dragonlady of Pern. So I've read 6 new books.
I'm glad that I've bought the English versions of the books (and far the best is Dragonsblood).
This review is about Deagons Eye (or Red Star Rising).
It is a terrible Pern-book. It goes from one 'bla, bla, bla' part to another 'bla, bla, bla' story. Nothing substantial is happening. The book counts 400 pages and I read less then 100.
I can see why other reviewers likes this book: it's the dawn of the Pern sociaty 'rules', they say and that is true. But for me the story is much to slow. I admit that I'm a 'space opera'-fan.
