Sookie is sent to Dallas to use her special talents. "Vampire Bill" and his boss, Eric the Viking, go with her as she starts to build a name in the SUPE (supernatural) world. Look for an appearance by the vampire Man from Memphis, "Just call me Bubba". Sookie is getting her education by travel and reading but really just wants to go home to her waitress job in a tiny bar in northern Louisana. Sookie easy to identify with: She worries about the property taxes on her home, staying out of the bar customers lives (hard when she's a telepath), keeping communications open with her wayward brother, and If her relationship with "Vampire Bill" is going anywhere. I just couldn't put this book down.
