Submitted by Teri Gomez (Jan 21, 2000)I found Ms.Viehl's book STARDOC to be great fun and finished reading it in one sitting. It was fascinating to follow in the heroine's steps as she travels to another planet to escape a horrific secret she has discovered about her father on Terra, and arrives in a world filled with alien species and a lifestyle she is not prepared for, but gutsy enough to take on as a medical surgeon. The romantic aspects between the character DR.CHERIJO GREY VEIL and two prospective lovers, one a definite alien, and the other an alien-raised human, is very well done, and I found myself totally absorbed in the myriad problems this young doctor found herself in. The cast of supporting characters and vivid descriptions of the planet Kevarzangia Two were extremely well done, and I believe Ms.Viehl to easily become a fan favorite once others get ahold of this marvelous book, the first in a series. I will certainly recommend it to all who love science fiction that isn't overly technical, yet enough to make one believe they are ac
tually there with the heroine. I look eagerly forward to the second installment due out in July 2000. Kudos to Ms. Viehl for her wonderful talent and for a well written and fascinating book.
