The Mapping of Markesh is an interwoven story that twists and turns with each chapter. The story is believable within its created world and it's easy to imagine the events portrayed in the book.
Familiar fantasy races are joined by new creations with a personal favorite being the Ajya-na-ku a society of black owls with far reaching influence throughout the story.
The book has a good mix of narrative and dialogue along with plenty of action and adventure.
A good first novel from the author and well worth a read.
