It all starts with a box. Washed up on the shore and found by an unexpecting girl. A girl discovered by Sigurd, to be growing up with wolves, she is taken, named 'Mouse' and integrated into the Storn community and a family who will care for her throughout her troublesome years. she is unusual at the best of times but when she and her new brother Sigurd come across the box her past, thought forgotten, will start coming back and her true identity will unleash the terrifying legend of the dark horse.
A book filled with cruelty, mystery and terrible treachery from which no one is spared that never ceases to be gripping and amazes you with its unbelievably unpredictable plots.
Marcus Sedgwick writes beautifully to involve and startle the reader with this pacy, fast moving and carefully crafted story steeped in its own past.
