Submitted by Hillary Smythe (Jul 29, 2005)This is a wonderful fantasy novel about friendship, the human spirit, and working together for the greater good. It starts out with Aragel, a young prince whose future throne is threatened and an inept sorceress and soldier who is just learning to accept who she is. Together the prince and sorceress find themselves thrown together while fleeing an attack by suspicious raiders. They come to find out they are on the same mission to stop a sorcerer zealot and they uncover the sorcerer's terrible plot to take over human ruled kingdoms and destroy the sorcerers' race. The prince and the sorceress go after the zealot sorcerer to stop him. Only the sorceress' inept magic will work against him.
I recommend this novel to people (aged 13 to adult) who love character driven fantasy, and even to those readers who don't read a lot of fantasy. There is a lot to enjoy here including multiple subplots, mystery, action, and adventure.
