Danse Macarbre by Laurell K. Hamilton

I am a huge fan of Laurell K. Hamilton. I've read both Anita Blake and Meridith Gentry series, but I have to say that in Danse Macabre I lost track of the story line with all of Anita's psychobabble and need to feed her incubus. I mean, come on Laurell, give us a story with magic and intrigue, not the constant search for a f**k. The guy on guy scene with Jean Claude was hot, and the magic growing is good, but I want to see Anita in less a state of panic and more composed as she was in your earlier books.
