What strikes me about Lancelot's Brother is the use of pop icons as tool for characterization. They bring instant fill to the situation the father falls into.

Also, I find the way that the author reveals the relationships between characters, real or imagined, is absolutely on-target. The dynamic between the husband and wife is beautifully explored and painted.
