This book is very intriguing and written in a very interesting style. Carey writes very realistically and gives such life to her characters. The characters are a little too indestructable, which is their only non-realistic flaw.
The cultures in this novel are based upon real cultures, and the similarities make it interesting to try to figure out which culture in the book is referring to which culture in reality.
I would not recommend anyone who is easily offended by nudity or sexual scenes to read this book, as the protagonist is someone who plays a dangerous game by selling herself and weeding information from her patrons. I would recommend this book to anyone with a vivid imagination and a will for solving the puzzles of politics.
The plot of this story is very interesting as it is hard to predict what is going to happen next. This keeps things from getting boring as you never know what twist is going to come next.
Overall a very good read. One that qualifies (to me) as one that I can read multiple times, as each time I pick up something new.
