Just finished reading this first book in a new children's science fiction book series by Mel Hogan.

The book starts off a little slowly, but develops the main characters, and lets you know a bit of background to the story. Then in chapter two it starts to get going.

The story is all about the Earth of the future being in trouble with environmental problems. The two main characters are Ethan Knight and Aurora Gazers, and the book is basically their journey towards finding a new planet for the people of Earth to live on.

There are, of course, various people along the way that want to stop them from completing their mission, and it'll be interesting in the future to see how else they can try to stop them.

The book is well written, and with such a big cliff-hanger at the end really makes you want to read the next book in the series when it's released.

The author has a website www.23rdcenturychildren.com which he keeps up to date with information about the series, and there's even a competition there for someone to win 10,000 to name the lost planet for the second book in the series!
