While Wizard's First rule has some similarities to the Robert Jordan series it is an independently different story.
Gookind quickly sucks you in and makes you care about the fate of his Protagonists Richard and Kahlan.
Goodkind's story moves quicker and with more emotion than the slow plodding Robert Jordan. I highly
recommend this series to fantasy readers everywhere.

This series just screams ROBERT JORDAN. He's a good author,
but has taken many of Jordan's elements, so if you like RJ, then you will
enjoy this series. You meet Richard and are introduced to a world that
has been separated into three main sections and barriered by a magical
forces. Kahlin Amnell the last of the Mother Confessors, in desperation
for the people of her land, journeys to find help in Richard's land.
The couple are propelled forward into events far beyond their control and
to confront an evil that appears invincible. Richard discovers his identity,
his true destiny and love for a woman that he is doomed to never have...or
so he thinks.....
