Page 2 of 2 A Cavern of Black Ice by J.V. Jones
Submitted by Avishai Micaiah (Oct 16, 2000)J. V. Jones is an exceptional author. While reading A Cavern of Black Ice I found I couldn’t put it down. I fell in love with the characters... I really cared for them. I felt like I knew them, and I felt for them.
The landscape she creates is breathtakingly real, while the vivid plot and actions will take the reader
over! As I neared the end, I began to slow down: I didn’t want it to end. Definently check this book out. Submitted by RAllen9840@aol.com (Jul 24, 2000)Wow! I have just read all of Jones' work and they're great! If you're a fan of The Eye of the World series by Robert Jordan, I think you'd like this book and her Book of Shadows series. It's hard to believe how fast 730 pages can go. She weaves plot and character together masterfully and it's engrossing! The characters are so rich and deep. It's a real talent to create people who seem real and who it's hard not to care about. I am eager to get my hands on the next book. Submitted by Rodney Powell (Jun 18, 1999)Unforgettable Fantasy Epic! Jones skillfully transports us to chilly realm of warring clans,
power-hungry rulers and ancient terrifying evil. Ralf Severance and his brother Drey are young clan
brothers who find their father and their leader have been ambushed and murdered by the rival clan Bludd.
Soon Ralf will suspect his leader foster son and new ruler of being involved with their deaths.
Jones also introduces us Ash March who is haunted by strange voices that torment her while she sleeps
and her mysterious foster father and sinister plans that involve her. This novel has sinister atmosphere
and is filled with scenes of sorcery, menace and mayhem. I also love the truly chilling villians like
March Lord Iss who seeks to use his daughter in his cold-blooded schemes of conquest and his brutal
and sinister right-hand man Malifico Eye. You will also meet crouching maiden, a deadly lady assasin
who's unassuming appearance is one of her weapons. This novel's atmosphere will guide you to world where
dark magic and darker deeds rule and and few can be trusted. For all those who read Jones's first trilogy
will be shocked by the final word of the unforgettable novel.
