I wish more people would read this novel so they might experience the magic in the story of the Wicked Witch of the West (aka Elphaba).
This is the story of Elphaba, a child born with green skin, who finds herself in a complicated part of the evil political agenda of the Wizard of Oz concerning the rights of Animals. She meets Glinda at a school called Shiz and learns to get along with her even though initially they hated one another.
The story involves the politics included in the book The Wizard of Oz, and follows the life of the Wicked Witch and how it is that she becomes so wicked.
I recommened this book to anyone who loves the Wizard of Oz, and to anyone who has seen the musical Wicked which is based off this book. It is a spectacular novel and you find yourself feeling sorry for Elphaba by the end of the novel.
