I liked the book In the hand of the Goddess because in this book Alanna has to make many tough choices and competes in her first battle. The choice of characters is very interesting and the meeting with the great mother goddess is fabulous. My favourite characters are Faithful, Moonlight,Alanna,Thom,Jonathon,George and Raoul. This book is very exciting and has alot of detail which I think is a sign of a good book. I would have to say there is not a single flaw in this book.

This book follows the story of Alanna of Trebond in her squire years, serving Prince Jonathan, her best friend. Throughout this book Alanna comes to terms with growing up and the Great Mother Goddess also visits and warns her.Going to war, falling in love and of course facing the terror of the Ordeal, all in the day of the Goddess's Choosen. This book adds a little maturity to Alanna's life as she grows and learns to understand other people and their decisions. This book is for over 11 year olds, unlike the first book. A great read and the story will keep you enthralled throughout Alanna' adventures.
