Page 1 of 1 In Legend Born by Laura Resnick
Submitted by Rodney Powell (Apr 07, 2000)After reading this great fantasy novel I wasn't sure which I thought was a legend born the characters or the author: Laura Resnick. She transports us the land of Sileria which has be conquered and enslaved by the brutal empire of Valada. A young sorceress has a prohecy of a great warrior coming to help overthrow their oppressors. The warrior who joins forces with a charismatic smuggler, who becomes their leader, a silerian noblewoman who sleeps with the enemies of her people to gain knowledge to defeat them and a ruthless but powerful water wizard all are major players in the epic struggle for freedom. Resnick has written a sweeping fantasy epic filled with memorable but
flawed heroes and heroines willing to faces death for freedom. She writes a novel filled with stirring scenes of battles, magic and tragic betrayal. Resnick makes such a convincing world and people that one might want to be transported to Sileria and pick up a sword for the cause of freedom. I sure did!
