Page 3 of 25 Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling
Submitted by Anonymous (Dec 12, 2002)This could possibly be one of Joanne Rowlings best books yet. It starts with Harry wanting to go to the Quidditch World Cup with Ron and his family and Hermione. Then he goes to school and starts to dream about his crush Cho Chang. But then an event that hasn't happended in hundreds of years is going to take place at Hogwarts. Submitted by Lauren (Dec 12, 2002)Personally, I never thought Rowlings could make a book that was much better than book #3 Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, but she did with book 4, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Don't get me wrong, the 3rd book was awesome and so were the others, but the 4th is the ultimate best. Rowlings has such an amazing imagination (who would have thought of all the stuff she did in the book) but she has a great way of telling us so we feel like we are really in the book. Also, I like the way she brought back some of the characters she left out in the 3rd book, like Moaning Myrtle, Dobby, etc. All I can say is that I cannot wait until the 5th book to come out because you can almost insure yourself that Rowlings has something up her sleeve to top Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and you know it must be bigger, scarier, and better than the others. It gave a wild imagination on what's happening on the Quidditch world cup and not to mention Harry's 4th year in Hogwarts. Especially the return of Voldemort, that's where the real action starts. That's why I can't wait for the next HP book! I bet it will be more exciting just like the rest of the first four HP books. Submitted by Jillian Phillips (Oct 31, 2002)All I have to say is this is one of the best series of books I have ever read. My most favorite being the Goblet of Fire takes you into a world that you'll want to wish to be in. Even if you are not a fantasy reader this book is not like all the other ones that do not make sense. This particular book is the best because there is so much happening (wierd things) left and right and fingers being pointed that until the end you won't know who did it. This is a book I would strongly recommend to read to any age group, my mom and dad have both read it and they are in there 40's. Anyone who has seen the book PLEASE don't be turned off because of the size. The size of the book being 735 pages is what so great about it. You can get lost in a world way different that the one you already live in for a couple of hours. I love the book so much that I am hoping her next book is somewhere around a thousand pages. If you have read the book you'll notice that her books keep geting thicker and thicker so I think The Brother hood of The Phoenix (book 5) is going to to be huge. Well at lest that is what I'm hoping for.
Expecially for all you Lord of the Rings fans this is a book I would try reading if I were you. As you can tell from the movies if you have read the book. The books are always by far better than the movies. With Harry Potter the movie you can see what one person imagined in the movie. In the book you can imagine it how ever you want to suit you. I would recommend you read the book before the movie because if you don't you tend to remember the movie more. This is what I did with Lord of the Rings and had to read it 3 times befor I could catch all the difference.
READ HARRY POTTER IT IS WELL WORTH YOUR TIME. YOU'LL LOVE IT TRUST ME
THANK YOU J.K. FOR THE MOST EXCELLENT BOOK EVER. please write an eighth book about what all the students do after the 7 years of school. Hurry with book five. Submitted by Rob Hughes (Sep 16, 2002)An excellent book, the plot by far the most subtle and complex of the series of 4 (which I have just finished). If you like 1, 2 and 3 you will like number 4 even more as it's longer, but more importantly, I think it's also better. There is non-stop action, intrigue and humour. If you like these books I'd suggest you also read Phillip Pullman's recent work, I suspect he had some considerable influence on JK Rowling. His writing is even more accomplished, I would say, and there are many parallels with Harry's world.
