You think you know Silk or Belgareth or Garion and then Eddings brings them to life. The stop at Drasnia and the imprisonment that show us so much about Silk, for instance. Polgara's tirade on the voyage to Nyissa. Mandorallen's handling of Lelldorin. Frank, humorous, and even compassionate glimpses into struggles of even minor characters like Ran Borune or Adara. All the inconsistancies and all the foibles--but a lot of the love too. Enjoy! Submitted by Chris (Jun 05, 2000)This book series is the greatest! When I started Pawn of Prophecy I wasn't a big fantasy reader (I mostly liked mysteries), but as soon as the series started to pick up the pace, I loved each book. I reread the series 3 times already. I thought the way David Eddings let the readers get to know and like the characters was realy neat. Now I can't wait to read the Mallorean, the Elenium, and the Tamuli. I think that David Eddings is a wonderful author and I wish that I could make books as extrodinary and creative as his I have read all of the "wizardry, and dragon books" in the library and find his to be the most descriptive and to contain such a consumative story line I have read "The Belgarade" four times. I just love his writing.
