Even though I read a lot of Fantasy, I don't really feel qualified to critique a book or series.  I'm going to try though.  First off, I loved Wizard's First Rule.  I thought it was an excellent book.  It tended to be a bit graphic in areas, but so do most fantasy books.  The Stone of Tears was another well-written book.  I thought the plot line was great, and the characters were memorable.  Graphic?  The chapter where the one sister gets killed was probably the most disgusting thing I've ever read in my life.  The third book.  By this time I have completely forgotten what it is called.  I remember it was about dark sisters and Richard destroyed that one place.  It wasn't a very good book.  I don't remember most anything about it.  Not the plot, not the characters, nothing.  From then on, whenever I saw a new Sword of Truth novel all I could think was, just stop writing them already.  I've had quite enough.

In the first bood The Wizard's First Rule I was so interested in the series.  It was the whole reason I got interested in fantasy books.  The story of Richard being a war wizard and being in love with a confessor was the best story I had ever read.
The second one was good because Richard was learning something more about his powers.  It turned into a love story which I think the series could do without.
The third book was alright because it brought in the dream walker.  The rest with the Blood of the Fold was In my opion stupid.
The forth book was cool because after Richard got into the Temple Of The Winds he knew everything and that was very cool.
The fifth book was just plain boring compared to the others.  Richard didn't learn very much.
Then the sixth book is to come out this summer.  I think Terry goodkind should move off the love story and go to letting Richard learn to use all of his abilities.

After having read garbage like dragonlance and dungeons and dragons I feel as though I can truly gauge A Fantasy Series as good or bad.  I've grown up playing role playing games of the fantasy type all my life and understand the need for continuity and development.  The art of making ones point and writing a good novel is at best a daunting task.  Terry I give you my highest regard.  You have shown us what it is to live in the world of Richard and Kahlan.  I truly love this series.  Like Terry I love to daydream.  I would give my left foot to do his job.(but I don't envy him the task).

Terry Goodkind is the best author I've read and believe me I've read alot of books.  I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys wizardry.

I read the first book of Terry Goodkind in one day - nobody could get me off it. I know the book was not really good one. The same stereotypes of heroes, the same adventures everything is very typical. But something in the book keeps you reading more and more. You can't possibly stop. The first book was a real good one.
Then I read a second one. I still enjoyed it, but the quality already was lower then the one of the first book.
The third book was already quite boring. And I even challenged myself a little to read it. My opinion of Goodkind's books became a little lower.
About a year later I suddenly found the forth book of Sword of Truth and decided to read it. It really disappointed me. There were so much stereotypes, the same adventures and so much sex that it made me thick. I spent about month reading it. It was real bad.
Now, couple days ago I found in the library the fifth book and suddenly decided to take and read it. I think it wasn't that bad as the fourth one. It still had lots of things to inprove, but still was better than the fourth one.
Maybe Mr. Goodkind will go on the right track with his six's book and will do it better than the fifth one. May be Richard still have a chance. I really hope so.
