I've read and own all of the SoT books. They are great! The story draws me in and I find I end up reading the book all night. I sit up late thinking 'one more page, then i'm done.' Each character seems as if they are real, and I can relate to Kahlan. I can feel their emotions almost as if they were my own. And the world they live in seems as if it actually exists. Even though the books are pretty long, I keep thinking they're too short because I read through them so fast. I recommend this series to any fantasy lover, and anyone wanting to try something new.

Terry Goodkind's books incorporate a unique sense that the events in the book might have actually occurred. The use of magic in books would normally close people's minds to thinking of story as a historical event. This story however doesn't close the mind to any of this story, seeming real. It's use of magic draws the reader into the story because of its unique reality.

The characters in these stories seem to draw affection or even hatred from the reader, as if these people in the stories were actually alive and living this tale.

The main character (Richard Rahl) in my opinion was created with the view of how a person with true virtue and honesty should act and behave. The other main character (Kahlan Amnell) is what I would say the perfect view of virtue and innocence with a hidden sense of power and determination that most people harbour, but fear at the same time.

The overall theme of these books in my opinion is not only to entertain the reader but also to give a sense of how humans should live their lives, or maybe even examine the good and evil all humans harbour within the deepest darkest reaches of the soul.

An awesome series! Goodkind truly makes you think when you read this series, he brings forth ideas that people can ponder about. It has excellent characters that have real emotions and are fully developed. It has been the best series I have read. Praise for Terry Goodkind! Highly recommended!

If there's one thing i can say about these books, it would have to be that they are the most astonishing ,excellent, breathtaking books i have ever read in my life!!

I have read many books in my life, from the Barbara Hambly books( Dragonsbane etc...) to the Lord of the Rings series. None of them have matched the Sword of Truth series. It can be gory with sexual references, but this is war and this is what happens. My brother read the first 4 books and stopped because he said there was too much romance and love between Kahlan and Richard but I completely disagree. These books refer to the things that happen in life. I LOVE THEM!!

If ever they made movies about these books, they would be SPECTACULAR!!!

Ok. To start. I have to say that this is the best book I have read in my whole life, referring to Wizard's First Rule. There are no words to explain how absolutely captivated and spellbound I was. It gave me a joy that I have never experienced from any other book. People say that there are too many references to sex and that the violence is overdone but I really don't think so. Richard is fighting for his life every step of the way, he is The Bringer Of Death, he has to be violent. And all the rape is committed by men in armies, evil men, and that is the sort of thing that would happen in real life, isn't it? I have read the second book too, Stone Of Tears and although I would say that the first book was a tiny bit better, I would still say that this book is absolutely brilliant. All I can say is, start from the beginning book, not the middle, or it'll ruin it! I am currently reading the third book in the series, only about ten chapers in but already I can hardly put it down!
On another note, Robert Jordan I think his name is, writer of the Wheel Of Time series. I have not read this series although I plan to when I am done with Sword Of Truth. From what I have heard, I think that Goodkind did take some ideas from Jordan but all I can say is, so what? Singers, writers, arists all steal material from each other, always have done, always will do and I have to say that if I find them similar, even really really similar, nothing could diminish how much I adore the Sword Of Truth series. Nothing.
