I read Jordan's first 7 books in the WoT series avidly; they were quite an adrenaline rush. I
loved all the different characters he created, Mat, Birgette, Nyneave & Perrin being my favorites.
I feel, however, that the series has gone on too long, and that Jordan is losing interest in writing
it. 'Path of Daggers' seemed cobbled together, and the climax of the book lacked the excitement and
interest of the previous 7, especially 'Lord of Chaos'. His endings have gotten to be predictable.
Rand gets in a big battle with someone, usually Aes Sedai or the Forsaken. In the end he manages to
win, however, and the series keeps going on, and on, and on! And his leaving Mat entirely out of 'Path
of Daggers' was a disappointment. I still plan to read his next book in the series, but I don't look
forward to it as much as I did before.

Whilst I don't dispute that Jordan is an excellent writer, this series is just too long. It is
difficult to avoid getting the impression that it is just being spun out as long as possible to
maximise income. Whilst the plot is wholly and there are some really excellent themes and sub-plots
in the series, much of the material is re-worked in each volume. There are also many long, rambling
dialogues, running to dozens of pages, again covering ground that has been gone over ad-infinitum.

I would like to hail Mr. Jordan for writing such a great series. He inspires me to write things
of my own, but I cant write one sentence without deleting and rewording it ten times. I
definately strive to equal the depth and style that he has presented. I am half way through
book 8 and hope nine comes very soon. I thought Mat would marry Birgitte, but I dont really
know. I would also like to hail all of the readers of fantasy who keep it all going with their
support.

I have been reading fantasy novels since I was a little child, and I have found many series and authors that could draw me in. These past few months I've been reading The Wheel of Time series and am extremely impressed. I begin reading in the morning and find myself still reading when the sun goes down wondering where the time went.
I am currently reading Lord of Chaos, and am very glad that he has finally woven Perrin into the story again. I'll have to admit that I missed Loial too. I can't say that I care too much Faile, but hopefully somebody will set her straight before the series ends.
The magic system is also one of the major draws the series has to it. When reading you can almost see the threads of magic wind into delicate weaves, seizing your imagination and pulling you along to the next page. It's hard to find a series with a good magic system. Too often you find magic being evoked through a few words with no attempt to explain how it's done.
While some moments it can get pretty dry, and you may not know whether you're reading a fantasy or a romance, the depth of characters and cultures, the intricacies of the story line itself, and the thrilling build and climactic release of well thought out battle scenes more than make this entire series a wonderful read and definitely one of the standing pinnacles of modern fantasy. Robert Jordan, I take pleasure in commending you on a job well done.

Robert Jordan's WoT series is the best I've ever read and I've read alot. It has amazing depth and style.
I have read POD and find it not as action packed as some of the earliers especially because Mat is not
even in this book. Path Of Daggers is a seanchan saying so I thought for sure it would be all about Mat
conquering the Seanchan and marrying the Daughter of the nine moons(Empress)but I was disappointed.
Still POD is a great book , and just because it doesn't have much action it still has lots of information
needed to get through , so that some action can occur. If you don't understand that than I don't know how
you got to book 8. I can't wait till book nine let's hope he doesn't take 2 years this time.
