Its incredibly powerful plot can be viewed in many ways. The first and most obvious of these is the plot that all fantasy books have, that of the battle between good and evil. The battle between good and evil in this series stands out above the rest simply because of the depth that it leaps into instantly. This is a battle of undescribably huge scales, that will affect the whole of Jordan's world. It seems hopeless, which is something all fantasy books need, because the hopelessness creates a sense of originality and suspense. I have learned a great deal from Mr Jordan's way of creating the epic battle between good and evil.
Another way the plot can be viewed is as a love story between Rand (the main character) and different characters as the book progresses. I am not going to go into detail on the plot, because that will spoil it for those who haven't treated themselves to this yet. Again, I have learnt a lot from Mr Jordan about writing about love from this series, as it is executed fantastically. The characterisation depth here is enough to destroy some other Fantasy books. Let us say simply that the love story told here came closer to telling it how it really is for me than any other book I have read (and I daresay I have read a few).
I will close by saying that the reason I gave this book 4 instead of 5 is because A) everything can be improved and because B) the plot has stopped moving. It is the only series where I have wanted to keep reading the books more and more and wanting to find out if Rand goes insane or Elayne marries Rand, it is all a big mystery to you.
What makes Robert Jordan's books so interesting is that so many questions are raised but very slowly are they answered. You'll have to read all of the books before you can figure out the questions that are raised and even then there will be some that aren't answered.
Another great aspect of the series is how there is not just one story going on at once. There is the grand story of Rand and how he is going to fight Ba'alzamon, but there are many other stories going on at the same time. Every time you meet a new character they take part in Rand's journey even if it is a small way and you have to remember all of them.
With all these people going around there is always action happening and you will never get bored with the book. Some of the character's stories can seem more interesting than Rand's and all you will want to do is skip chapters just to see what happens to them. This happens in the third book when you barely hear about Rand, but you follow the stories of all the other characters and they all lead up to meeting Rand at the Stone of Tear.
All in all, The Wheel of Time Series is great and if you are a fan of fantasy I know that you will think it is great also.

The First 4 books ( you could say) were Action-adventure. We had a Lord of the Rings thing going on with the battle of the good and the bad. We were introduced into this HUGE world, the sky was the limit with this setting!
But the storyline was lagging in the last couple of books, we had the same thing going on over and over again. I also didn't like the way Jordan has made it that the resolution that should be in the same book as the plotting, in the book following it!
The 10th book doesn't deserved to be called a book. More of a review or post of the previous books. All it does is add on to the storyline, and comment on what happened before. There is no resolution here, just talking.
Mr Jordan, we need a new storyline and change of setting QUICKSMART!
Whatever happens, please make the next one exciting, with a proper storyline, plot, resolution? The only reason I rate this series a 4 is because of the early books! Submitted by Nash Kinney (Nov 30, 2003) I'm on the 6th book right now,and so far I think this has to be the best fantasy series I have ever read. The characters are deep, the battles are cool, the descriptions are neither too long nor lack detail, and the story itself rarly gets boring. It starts off in a quiet town called Emond's Field, where our heroes live. The town is attacked by monsters, and a female wizard (called an Aes Sedai) along with her bodyguard(called a warder) are barely able to save the town from complete destruction. They say that the monsters were after our heroes,Rand,Mat and Perrin. Although the three of them don't really know why, they are forced to embark on a lengthy quest to Tar Valon, home of the Aes Sedai. When they get there it turns out that one of them is the Dragon Reborn, fated to break the world, draw Callondar, and fight the last battle against the dark one. After that I can't even begin to describe the complicated plot. Anyway, this is one hell of a good series, and I recommend it to all true fantasy lovers. So go buy the ffirst book, and enjoy! Submitted by Kyle (Nov 30, 2003)Fantasy series of this calibre seem to come along on a very sparse schedule. What Robert Jordan has done continues to bring emotion to the surface of my mind every time I think about it. Like every series, it has its pros and cons. I feel the pros of these books heavily outweigh the latter. The sheer magnitude of his work intimidated me at first. I mean he has published 10 books in this series so far, and I feel that he is just now approaching the climax. Having read the whole series twice already, I have to space out the time it takes to start the series again to reduce redundancy. Bottom line for me; Jordan has taken me to a world I will never forget. A world of magic, politics, heroism, and so much more. To try to review or explain it all would be impossible. Just read the books and see for yourself.
