my friends were all reading the harry potter books for a while and I always thought that they would just be more stupid witchcraft books. then the opening of the movie "harry potter and the sorceror's stone" came out and or course my best friend, who has read each of the books 2 or 3 times, begged to go see it with her when it comes out. so I decided that for her I would read the books b4 the movie came out so that I would know what was going on and she wouldn't have to explain, so I read the first book since my brother had it anyway. I couldn't put it down! I finished it in about 4 days TOPS and usually it takes me about a week to read a book shorter than harry potter and the sorceror's stone was. then I read the rest of the series and they were as good, if not better than the first. I suggest that EVERYONE read them because even if you aren't interested in this kind of stuff, they're wonderful books. I cannot wait for the 5th book to be released so that I may read it once it comes out, I hope to even ask for it now in barnes and nobles to be sure that I get a copy. I hope everyone else enjoys, or enjoyed, them as much as I did (or do)

I am a 17 year old college sophomore (skipped two grades) , and I love the Harry Potter series. The way Ms.Rowling write , absorbs the reader into a mystical world that almost feels real, I can just picture it all in my mind, Vernon and Petunia Dursley with the porky Dudley, all the Hogwarts Professors, Ron and Hermione , Malfoy , Crabbe and Goyle, everything even down to platform 9 and 3/4. I've read all four of the books two dozen times each (seriously), and I never get bored , the books never loose their sparks of magical flare. I can't wait till the fifth book comes out. Ms.Rowling, if you ever see this I would like to tell you how excellent your writing is , and how you've been an inspiration on me, I am a young author myself and I learn a lot about techniques through your writing, your truly a wonderful author.

I feel the harry potter books do not entertain children, but rather confuse children on issues of violence & fact from fiction.

I'm going to have to agree with the other reviews the other kids sent. Harry Potter is a fantastic series. I'm not going to go crazy like the other kids on the book and how great it is. I'm not saying that the books stink, I think there fantastic! What I mean is that I'm not going to go crazy waiting for the 5th book to arrive but I am a little excited. Well anyway harry potter was a great book. I recommend this book for people of all ages.
