Page 1 of 1 High Druid of Shannara by Terry Brooks
Submitted by Jacqueline Gardner (Jun 29, 2006)To Start, Terry Brooks has a unique way of writing, in many of his books he opens them up very well, however the endings are very rushed, this one surprised me as it left many openings and while i'm one for suspence the way inwhich he ignored certain charecters was a surprise. While nobody knows what happens in an authors head there is a certain expectation to uphold and the last book Straken really let me down at the end. The series was well done and had me reading for hours at a time, And while i loved the "peace" at the end of the book(If you read it you will understand what i mean)it almost seemed like Brooks knew what was going to happen with this charecter but he didn't want to write it. The Author is supose to show the reader his reasons, his logic behind why he writes a certain thing and while you may not always want this to happen the author lets you see his point. In this book, brooks almost seemed reluctant to this ending.
