Born in Stamford, Connecticut, Jeph Loeb, a three time Eisner award winner, has been an extremely influential individual in the comic book industry. He initially made his name writing film scripts including; Teen-Wolf, Commando and Burglar. It was whilst writing a treatment for The Flash that Loeb became involved in comics. Over the years Loeb has come to be associated with DC's big two, a recent record-breaking run with Jim Lee on Batman: Hush was amazingly bettered by Batman/Superman and even that was toppled by the spin-off success of Supergirl. Loeb's expansive knowledge of Superman lead to a consultant's role on hit TV series Smallville. As of September 1st, 2005 Jeph Loeb is starting an exclusive contract with Marvel and will begin work on Volume 3 of The Ultimates. Tragically, Jeph Loeb's 17-year old son Sam (himself already a comic book writer) lost his three year battle with cancer this year. |
