Wolverine origins takes us someplace we've never been before but unfortunately it does it rather boringly.
I found the artwork confusing because I couldn't tell which one was supposed to be wolverine, especially since they changed his name from what most people know him as, Logan, and gave it to someone else. Making it even harder to figure out who is who in this book.
The other problem I had was making him a rich, sickly child doesnt make sense and takes away from the gruff no nonsense aspect of Wolverine's character.
Also the writers felt the need to put in two people slightly similar to sabretooth and Jean Grey, making it somewhat of a prequel which like most prequels tries too hard to reference what came after,
This leaves us with less mystery which is most fans favorite part of Wolverine.
I'm not sure how popular this was but I have a feeling it will be conveniently retconned out very soon.
