Comments to Interview with David Eddings by

I first got hooked onto fantasy because of David Eddings 'The belgariad' and the rest of his works. I have read 'The belgariad' and 'The Mallorean' for the 5th time and will do it again Im sure! I am glad he will not sell his rights to make a movie because most of the fantasy movies made from books have been thoroughly disappointing!

Will there been any new books with Garion and the rest of the group? I would love to read books about new adventures featuring their children.

I for one enjoyed your interview with Mr. Eddings if not for him i would not enjoy reading as much as I do. These stories of the Belgariad got into my sytem so much that I named my oldest son Garion David in honor of Mr. Eddings. Long live these great books that he has written.

I can fully understand the wish to see the worlds & charactures Mr E creates brought to the screen. Would any of us really want to see the images we carry mentally altered though? I for one say no. Until I stumbled across The Belgariad I had never read a book from cover to cover I am ashamed to admit. I owe my growth of imagination to Mr E. I raise my glass in Salute to you Sir.

Wow. Interesting interview in that he seems completely uninterested in reaching out to his fans. In other interviews I've read with him, he seems equally aloof. This is kinda disappointing. Still though, the Belgariad was, for me, a life-altering experience. I wish they'd be made into a movie, but Mr. Eddings isn't interested. On another note, it's very sad to hear that his wife passed away. My condolences to him in his loss. :(
