Took you advice and issued the first two gentleman bastard books out off the library immediately after reading and found them brilliant! Hilarious and witty in a very refreshingly blunt but convoluted way :P. I really loved them so thank you for such a great thread keep it up!! I'm off to read some of your other recommendations

Noel, I've heard good things about Alan Campbell over various forums on the 'net. In fact, I greatly considered getting my hands on his novel, Scar Night, and including in him a volume of "A Changing with the Guard". With your recommendation I just might have to try a little harder! ~Aidan

A new writer I read recently, and thought it was a great debut, is scar night by Alan Campbell... give it a review when you get the chance to read it
