Adolf Hitler and his Nazis manage to kill off all the non-Aryans on Earth. Rather than stopping with humans, all other Earthly animals and plants are also eradicated. Hitler looks around, sees that it is good, and kills off the rest of the Nazis, leaving himself alone and undisturbed on planet Earth. If he then somehow started a war with some extraterrestrial species, and they killed him, would they have just committed genocide? This seems almost too silly to believe, but this is essentially the "moral problem" confronting the power brokers in this book.
