Comments to Suikoden 4
Submitted by Wildfire03 (Feb 02, 2008)This Review may come a little lake but here it is anyway... Suikoden 4.
Though the graphics aren't the most breathtaking in the world, I've always enjoyed the Suikoden games for the challenge of collecting all the 108 stars(which I did this time!WOO). The game starts out with you as a knight of Gaien, a an island amoungst many that you will visit throughout the game. Early on you're doing meanial tasks that I would have found easier if a direction were given, or if you could check your display screen to see what you're current main objective is and how to complete it(Especially when you pick up the game after a couple weeks and forget where you are in it). That was the main drawback of this game for me.
The Ship battles in the game were a lot of fun I thought and though not very challenging when you understand the dynamics of how it works, I enjoyed the cannon blowing fun that it brought to the game experience. As always there are group fights, but downed the number allies you could pick to 4.
The music for me was the best part of the game, especially the opening sequence. The song is called "La Mer" done by Coba... and though this kind of music is probably not for everyone, I thought it fit the game just right.
I enjoyed the minigames that they threw in there, especially the dice game and the spinning top one(I was trying to think of the anime that the minigame resembles but I am at a loss). I loved trading between towns(it's all about rum and pearls), especially after you get vicki and can teleport places, and the confessional, a place where people come to confess to you and you're able to give them a thumbs up if you accept their confession and they're okay; or thumbs down and they get drenched with water or hit by an anvil had me laughing to stitches. But the best part of the game is when you finish it, you can start a game+ and choose a new main character.
I enjoyed this game, could've been better but I give it a watertight 7.5/10

What's the sound and music like? Any memorable scenes? Does this compare to any other games.
Worst review I ever seen, other than unnecessary bias and ignorance.
