It would be nice if the synopsis of the plot were removed from this "review".

Fantastic novel, debut or otherwise! Rothfuss is very easy to read and quickly engrossing. It doesn't take many pages to become immersed in his story. I can't wait to pick up Part Two this summer. What's up with Bast? Looking forward to finding that out and more...

I can honestly say this book appealed to any level of my imagination. As a devoted fantasy role-player this book provides you with all the clues and settings to keep you right on the edge of your seat. I cannot await the next book!!

I just finished reading the book. I cant wait for the next one. I too was frustrated with not having any of Deena's secrets revealed, but i suppose ill just have to wait for the next book.

Pretty good book overall, though I grew a little bored with Kvothe's infatuation with Denna--too much telling, not enough showing. Yes, we understand she is beautiful, but I'd have liked a little more insight as to what made her such a testosterone magnet. Aside from that, Rothfuss did a nice job of character development. I look forward to the sequel.
