I really like the premise of your story and Henry, but not much happened. He goes home after making that report, gets drunk, gets undrunk, goes to see Claire, then world ends as he knows it. Short stories are hard because you have to introduce your character, set up a conflict and then resolve the conflict or come to some sort of conclusion in a short amount of time. But again, this was a good premise. Good luck.
