Comments to Firstborn by Arthur C. Clarke

Firstborn ends like a Cliffhanger. There has been no hint as to why Bisesa Dutt and her offspring are special to the firstborn spheres; And certainly this book is only half the story. The other half, presumably, is located in Stephen Baxter's mind, and hopefully, on his hard drive. The people of universe are at war with the mysterious firstborn, of which we yet know nothing. I hope Mr. Baxter has enough interest to bring this series to a conclusion.

Not quite a turkey but frustrating. This volume is not as tight as its two predecessors. In fact, it's all over the place. Then it stops. Doesn't end, just stops. No wrapup. Before buying it, read the last chapter. Since it's only two pages it won't take long. What happened to the Martian? What happened to Mir? After more than 1,100 pages (the three books of the series) those two pages are all you're gonna get. It's like sitting through a long, complicated joke with no puch line.
