Comments to The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks

I have to say Brent Weeks is a very good writer. From the moment I picked up the book at Chapters to the moment I pulled the bookmark out for the last time, I was interested. I think I like his writing style so much because its very predictable in a sence that I know I can read a chapter while on the bus. Having a busy life and reading is difficult to balance. Brent Weeks writing style allows me to do both very well. So as I finish writing this, I can't wait to pick up the second book. Cheers

i agree complete, the second i finished the first, i ran out and bought the second. wonderful books that held me from cover to end. though i dont agree about the names, having all these characters with names that no one uses is more of a hinderence. i feel he did a wonderful job of choosing both common and uncommon names that fit each character perfectly

I have to say, I couldn't agree more. I was so impressed by this novel that I immediately went out an bought the next one in the series, and then sent Weeks an e-mail (which he did reply to). His characters were absolutely gripping, the multi-leveled, tortured, people-like characters that I love to read. For a debut novel, this certainly was a masterpiece. I wasn't quite as impressed by the second, but that's only because I thought he was doing too much. A fantastic series thus far.
