Comments to Heroes of the Pacific

As far as being difficult, the third mission made me quit the game and forget about it for over a year. Now in 2007, I finally toughed it out after reading online where others complained about the same problem. After that stage the rest of the game was reasonably easier to play. I am surpised no one compares this game to the similar WWII air combat of LucasArts "Secret Weapons Over Normandy". That game has a better story, score, and voice acting. Where "Heroes" bests it is in the full length cinematic replay where you can watch what you just did-an absolute crime it is missing from the LucasArts game! "Heroes" also flies better as the plane is a bit "loose" when being thrown around. In SWON, it is unrealisticaly tight as if it were a toy plane on a stick being waved around. The menus here really fit the era and plane upgrades and gun elevation settings are a nice inclusion. Better acting from the main character (it's hard to imagine it being worse) and an actual rookie level that plays like one would have made this game as good as SWON. Overall, a nice game as it is.
