There are times in which we wish things were different
When things felt whole
When life was once true and you could live it with meaning
When you felt a since of purity
You could smile and breathe easy

There was more than just what’s normal
More than rights and wrongs
You had choices
And you had control over your own destiny

You wish your soul was unconquerable again
You could with stand anything
You would not weep and shrink away from,
Something that loomed over you

But now things have changed
Nothing will ever seem the same
The world around you is as black as the night
You huddle and hide from what you know is true
But what else can you do when you have nothing left…
