Who Were You by Mike McWade

Who were you
to make that choice
To take your life
to quiet your voice

Who were you
to cause such pain
the life you lived
ended in vain

Who were you
to cause me strife
to hold me back
to ruin my life

Who were you
to cause such sorrow
didn't think of the ones
to come tomorrow

You were two
That came before me
and ruined the lives
of those that bore me.

With both of your names
I was branded
living the life
your deaths commanded

The chains of your deaths
Are no longer binding
I've made my peace
I'v put you behind me
