LUCIFER IN THE SKY (WITH DIAMONDS)

Yeah, yellow moon I’m feelin’ fine
Like cigarettes in turpentine

Yellow moon and yellow mist
A blunt caress from a clenching fist
The sudden death that ends a kiss
The supple suffering that you miss

Yellow moon is turning red
I met a man and left him dead
Pushed a bullet through his head
“It’s okay,” I think he said

Yellow moon, yellow moon,
A single thrust to pierce the gloom
a grinning sky that makes me swoon
the scent of lust in an empty room
a devil’s tail-light, a smoking cloud
a little voice that laughs aloud
“Follow me,” I heard it say,
What the fuck, just lead the way

Yellow moon, I grit my teeth
Feed the fever, give release
Hurt me, darlin’, give me peace
or lock me up, I’m going sane
A growing smile will seal the pain

Yellow moon, oh, yellow nurse
Open up (it’s gonna hurt)
Let me cut or you’ll feel worse,
You’ve got my trust –now you go first
(I’m right behind you with your purse)

Yellow moon, a fat cigar
My neighbor’s cat can play guitar
They say his voice is like a scar,
His words like darkness from a star,

Yellow moon and kill yourself,
Love the sickness, not the health
Give me something more than wealth
The taste of ashes from your well,
Those brittle secrets that you tell
The dust of walls upon your cell
The sediment, your fucking shell,
That yellow moon that shines in hell
