'Devil's Dance' Folk song by Shandria Katz

I travel the Kingdom near and far
leaving all my kin at home
Seeking out the killer of my true love
who dies in my heart each night

I climbed the peak of Devils hill
to await the demon there
Oh night and day did pass me by
till the night of the pale bright moon

The demon there did crawl to me
and he did a merry jig
Do you challenge me oh foolish boy
for fame fortune and power

Chorus:
Dance the dance, the Devils dance
On the night of the pale bright moon
Oh...sing the song of all lost souls
Sell your heart to its flames

I seek no fortune and I seek no fame
and I seek no power above
I seek revenge for my poor love
who dies in my heart each night

I want the killer dead afore me
having no harm done on me
And all thats his will become my own
to replace my lost true love

The demon laughed and the demon grinned
and he did a merry jig
I'll grant your wishes one two three
if you make me weep this night

Chorus:

I played my flute of unicorn horn
and I played as fair can be
Of longing lust for the outside world
and the demon did weep once

I played my drum of dragon hide
and I played with all of my might
Of riches and power to rule over all
and the demon did weep twice

I raised my poor elven voice
and I sang of my hearts fire
Of imprisonment at someones will
and the demon did weep thrice

Chorus

You tricked me boy and you shall pay
you shall pay with your very own soul
Then the demon did clutch his chest
as his life began to flee

As I cast aside my boys disguise
to prepare for my own fate
Terror filled his demon eyes
and I recognized his face

I want the killer dead afore me
having no harm done on me
And all thats his will become my own
to replace my lost true love

Chorus

His power filled my heart with fire
and I did a merry jig
But the fire did burn my heart
as I sold my own true love

Demonbane my fame began
with powers to rival all
but I buried them with my sad heart
as the Lady of Devils Hill

With the sword of desires
and the shield the freedom of will,
I sold my heart to the flames of war
and I danced the devils tune

Chorus

Chorus
