We'll Remember Ye, the Honoured Dead by Mark Both

We値l Remember Ye the Honoured Dead

We値l remember ye, the honoured dead,
Those of you who chose to fight,
And now rest in a field of red.

Soldiers, men who fought and bled,
To whom the mortal world was lost from sight.
We値l remember ye, the honoured dead.

Drivers of beasts that spewed forth lead,
Who struggled against the failing light,
And now rest in a field of red.

Young men who through the air sped,
Only to fall, aflame, from flight.
We値l remember ye, the honoured dead.

And sailors who to the sea are wed,
Who drowned and died in the cold, still night,
And now rest in a field of red.

All of who in battle tread,
We値l not forget your struggles, your plight.
We値l remember ye, the honoured dead,
Who now rest in a field of red.
