Today we had the presents, the decorations, and the lights
We had the family, the food, and drink all in one place
Watched the same old movies and talked the same old talk
But not the tree, or the church, or the giving could give me that thing
That old Christmas feel
Fasle hope and material dreams
Gave me a grin up to the seams
Wish I could have the desire of what could be
But All I can think of is me
And my box of nothing
On this empty Christmas day
Drank so much nog with a half empty cup
Ate pounds of ham that didn’t fill me up
Threw the same old decorations on the tree
Gave me not the spirit but self pity
Looking for that old Christmas feel
False hope and material dreams
Gave me a grin up to the seams
Wishing I could have the desire of what could be
But All I can think of me
And my box of nothing
ON this empty Christmas day
Now I sit as my family has gone to bed
Drink some beer then smoke a red
Feeling bad for myself Is my daily gift
It keeps on giving and I love to receive it
That old Christmas feel is gone today
