All My Wishes by Roy Neyman

I wish I could wash away the past with tears,
But all that I've shed seem not to be enough.

I wish I could abandon my love for you,
But it is too strong to be cast aside.

I wish I could fathom what's brought us to this place,
But my understanding is too weak.

I wish I could give you the happiness you desire,
But the choice is not mine.

I wish I could see into our futures,
But my vision stops at today's heartache.

All my wishes amount to nothing,
Nothing at all.
