Yesterday the sun was bright
The birds sang loud and clear
I was me there was no doubt
No uncertainty or fear

But who am I today I ask
What change has taken place
I know not the thoughts
I have, or recognise the face

Everytime I close my eyes
The world turns anew
Is it me I cannot doubt
The sky offers not a clue

I want to be great man
Who does not they reply
Old and withered I see myself
I hope I am young to die

And yet I fear death
The night terror that stings
Its spell in day is broken
Yet the first star mortality brings

I do not understand it yet
My mind is not so strong
Avoiding all these chances
Understanding won't be long
