Within light by Terry Cummings

Womanhood, tempered, tamed
flushed skin upon my palm
Crushed are we and draped
rectified within light

Weighted beneath ocean incessant
as shipwrecks, broken
Two splintered masts
Within wet sail's shroud

In sand we divide
to stare up through depths
as a far away moon
Cries light upon us

Two teardrops
Within its stare
