In silhouette by Terry Cummings

Dark waves crash your silhouette shores
Night as ink splashes
upon you

In ebony, my sun
I see you where sight ends
And thought begins

And touch

And in your form
In memory and familiar
A favourite road home
Comfort and rhyme

Softest leather
Powdered brushes
Relieved carnations
Opening in the night
Spellbound rarity

I find purchase in places
That celebrate you most
And somehow

You tremble still
