Were I want by Terry Cummings

Were I want to touch you
In selfishness

Though you are beauty
And delicate
As butterfly's wings

And in my want
Should I muddy you with clumsy fingers?
Just to spill some of that colour
Onto me
And spoil you forever?

Athenic testament
Were only I worthy

You are so completely different

From anything else I have known
