Vanquisher by Justin Thomas Squires

"Vanquisher"

When it was ripped from my chest
It was already pained
When I fell to my death
My sanity regained
I came upon this world
For the second time
Reborn from the ashes of my own flesh
Devoured me whole
A reborn soul
Wisdom was gained
When my love was slain
Wisdom of life
Gained first by a knife
What was once a life lived
Now a memory barely recognizable
As my own
What was given to me
A gift of god
The gift of rebirth
And a new found job
To vanquish the damned
And honor the weak
By the will of god
My actions shall speak
Amen
