the end of the world as we know it by Willie Meikle

consumer consumables consumed
ozone odiously obliterated
resources randomly raped
Gaia growing grey

whales whistling weakly
babies born brazenly
forests falling feverishly
Earth expiring early

asteroid arrives alarmingly
seas surge skyward
clouds colour crimson
rain runs rampant

lowlands lie lifeless
mankind markedly missing
amino acids accumulate
bacteria bubble boldly

evolution endures eternally
